Dr. Anil Khurana is the Chairman of the National Commission for Homoeopathy, Government of India. National Commission for Homoeopathy is the highest policy making body for maintaining a high quality and high standards in education, practice and research of Homoeopathy and make necessary regulations in this behalf.
Prior to this he was the Chairman, Board of Governor, Central Council of Homoeopathy, the erstwhile regulatory Council for the education and practice of Homoeopathy in India; wherein he was instrumental for bringing reforms in quality education in Homoeopathy and practice standards.
Dr Khurana has vast research experience spanning over 36 years including 3 years as Director General of Central Council for Research Homoeopathy, an apex research organization under Ministry of AYUSH for conducting research in Homoeopathy. Dr Khurana has about 100 research publications, contribution in more than 50 books to his credits in all areas of homoeopathic research i.e. clinical research, basic research, fundamental research, drug standardization, clinical verification, drug proving, surveys, etc. He has presented more than 80 research papers aiming to spread the spirit of evidence-based medicine and encourage research in Homoeopathic science globally.
He has developed the Good Clinical Practices Guidelines for Clinical Trials in Homoeopathy which is a comprehensive set of minimum standards for undertaking clinical, public health, social and behavioral research with homoeopathic medicines. He has also developed various training manual for homoeopathic practitioners, drug monographs and disease monographs. In 2020, under his leadership CCRH conducted more than 15 research studies on role of Homoeopathy in prevention of COVID – 19 infection and its treatment in various population settings.
He coordinated and designed fundamental research studies on homoeopathy to identify action of high dilution homoeopathic medicines in coordination with basic scientists including physicists, chemists, geneticist, virologist, microbiologists, pharmacologists, etc. He played an instrumental role in the National Campaign on Homoeopathy for mother and Child Care conducted by the then Department of AYUSH from 2007 to 2012. He developed and conducted public health programs on research mode providing benefit to more than 15 lakh people with homoeopathic treatments.
He has presented more than 100 research papers aiming to spread the spirit of evidence-based medicine and encourage research in Homoeopathic science globally.
An internationally acclaimed personality in Homoeopathic fraternity, Dr Khurana is well known researcher with active involvement in academics and administration for the development of Homoeopathy.
